My background is in social sciences, with a particular interest in political science. Whilst studying for my MA (specialising in democracy and elections) I became interested in the use of statistics and quantitative data and so came to Lancaster University to complete the MSc in Data Science.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, listening to music and podcasts, and reading (plus buying far too many books…). I have recently started growing my own vegetables and would love to run a small organic farm growing fruit and vegetables in the future.
My role on the team
I am currently a PhD candidate in the Data Science Institute exploring the trustworthiness of contemporary sources of environmental data from the perspectives of academics, legislators and the public.
Why I wanted to join the team
Ensemble is a natural fit for me and my work as it is multi-disciplinary and concerned with the application of data science to the natural environment. It also provides plenty of opportunities to meet a range of people with the same values and goals which is beneficial to developing my ideas and getting to know the wider community.
